Introductory Seminar: |
| |
|
This 16 hour seminar defines
what Bonnie Prudden Myotherapy® (BPM) is, how it works, and how it can
be used by health professionals. A brief lecture covers the history of
this modality, its inception and development. The importance of taking a
person’s history is covered along with how to use it to determine a plan
of treatment. Exercise and how it fits into Bonnie Prudden Myotherapy® is
explained.
"Quick Fix" Myotherapy is
then taught with step-by-step instruction, demonstration, and hands-on
involvement, with one instructor leading the work at the front of the
room while another circulates around the room and helps the participants
as needed. The whole body is systematically covered from the top of the
head to the bottom of the feet. Techniques designed to relieve
backaches, headaches, shoulder & arm pain, hip & leg pain, hand and foot
pain, and more are taught.
After each muscle group is
detriggered, passive table stretches are taught to gently take the
muscles through full range of motion. Corrective exercise designed to
retrain the muscles to return to their full resting length and prevent
the muscles from returning to a shortened position is taught after each
body area is covered.
Also covered in this seminar
is how to test key posture muscles for weakness and inflexibility which
helps the therapist in determining which clients may be more susceptible
to back pain and dysfunction. The Kraus-Weber test is taught along with
specific exercises to do to correct any weaknesses and or inflexibility
discovered.
Self-help and the prevention
of pain and problems for health professionals is also stressed. How to
work on yourself using Myotherapy tools is taught, along with what
exercises should be done to prevent problems to begin with. Participants
are brought through a fun and informative program of exercise for
therapists, where daily movement is stressed and presented in an easy,
amusing and entertaining way.

"Basic
Lines"
|
Covers more of the muscle group and involves more points in each line.
|
q |

In using Basic Lines a person is
thoroughly covering an area to get the best results with a longer
